MOKAU-ITI ROADS.
To the Editor. Sir,—l notice in your issue of April 13th, comment on the bad state of the roads in Mokau-iti. A certain part of the Ramaroa road is mentioned aa being very bad It would have been a revela icn to you to have seen the roads on the other side of the swamp from Mr Kanard's bush right out to Messrs Briksson an r l Mac Donald's. The road is nothing but a bug for chain afler chain. There is one place on the Mungetaka road where the men were stopped working, that is now in an awful state. In fact it is so bad that a horse cannot get through. In pla 'ps the packers and settlers in order to get aiong have a dreadful experience. '.There are about a dozen settlers who have to use this bog hole as a road. It seems as though the settlers will have to resort to slush boata if they are to get over the Mangetaka road during winter. Can nothing be done? —I am, etc., MUD SETTLER.
