Heavy rain and squalls have hvld up the mosquito fleet, and earp/o operations have been hampered. A timber boom moored at Mechanic;- Hay broke louse yesterday men;!!':.: piayini: havoc with the small crafts anehoi-ed in the haw. As a result, a number of yachts and lishin;'- heats were sank. The piles supporting (lie Wailonala Rowing i )uh'< sheds in Mechanics Bay were carried away, causim; the structure to collapse. Six of fourteen boats contained in the shed were smashed to atoms. Others', it is feared, are damaged beyond repair.
