A plain and fancy dress ball was held in Messrs Eric!<3ion's and McDonald's shed on Easter Monday night, and a most enjoyable evening was spent. There was a large gathering of settlers Irom all parts of the block. Some of the fancy dresses were as follows: Miss L. Hose, Ivy; Miss Grace Wiley, red cross nurse; Miss Maud Wiley, Japanese lady; Miss May Wiley, margucritte daisy; Miss Eilleen Fraei, separator; Mrs Cooper, blue bells; Mrs Dixon, queen nf hesr's; Mr.i Cambridge, peeress; Mrs Kingham, Cinderella; Mrs F. W. Hose, forget-rr'?-nots; Mr R. Kenny, Maori; Mr Alvin Wiley, kills; Mr Coilett, clown: Mr NorthcroEt, swagger; Mr J. Coombridge, Mexican cowboy. Songs wore sung by Miss L. Hose, "In the Shadow of the Pinse"; Mr Ryan, "Queen of the Earth"; Mrs Cooper, "Always in the Way"; Mr Coilett, "The Boy from Dear Old Ireland", Miss Maud Wiley, "Silver Threads Among the Gold"; Mr R. Kenny, "Take me Back to Bendigo"; Miss L. Hose, "Across the ridge of old"; Mrs Hopkins, cake walk; Mr John Colliding, "Ring Down the Curtain": Mrs Hopkins, "The Vacant Chair"; Mr Churchill, "I Must go Home To-night"; Mr J. W. Hose, "Boy in a Sailor Cap"; Master A. Hase, "Littla Boy in Blue"; Mr Ryan, "Silver Rio Grande"; Mrs Rowering, "Daddy"; Mr Donnelly, "The Colonial Boy"; Mr Bairstow, two sungs. Messrs Ma wry and Coombridge played for the dances and Mr G. Banfield acted as M.C. Dancing wa3 kept up until daylight next morning.
