HOCKEY.

A most, enthusiastic meeting of hockey players was held in Mr W. McColl's saloon last evening. There were about twenty players present, and several more have intimated their intention of playing.

The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr C. K. Wilson, M.P. ; president, Mr E. H. Hardy; vice-pre-sidents, Messrs N. C. Matthew, J. T. Hetet and T. Walsh; committee, Messrs Brewer, McColl, Simmonds ; Turner, Rev. Gosnell; secretary, Mr T. Dewar; treasurer, Mr A. B. Price. A good ground has been secured and the first practice will be held on Thursday next 3t o p.m. It was decided to affiliate with the Auckland Hockey Association.
