METHODIST CHURCH.

Tne first quarterly meeting in connection with the Te Kuiti Methodist Church was held last Thursday evening, when the president of the. Conference, the Kev. VV. Ready, presided over a representative gathering. After the opening of exercises, an address was delivered by Mr Ready, in which he touched upon the aims and objects of the church. The following were then elected to office: —Senior circuit steward, Mr M. 11. Wilton; junior circuit steward, Mr J. Nicholls; society stewards, (senior, Messrs Webber and Steele, with Messrs Bullard, Clarke, Megson, G. and E. Smith, Jones and Wooles; poor stewards, Mesdames Nicholls, Cobb and Webber; local preachers, Messrs Clarke, Webber and Steele; reporter to press, Mr Dullard; agent for Methodist Press, Mr Wooles; class leaders, | Messrs Nicholls and Webber.

A hearty welcome was accorded to the Rev. R. B. Gnsnell and assurance of loyal support given. The members' roll stood at 29 with several names yet to come.

Owing to the unavoidable absence of the senior circuit steward in Wanganui it was decided to adjourn the meeting sine die.

The. president then closed the meeting with the Benediction.
