AMUSEMENTS.
"LAND OF THE SHAMROCK." Lovers of drama, and their name is legion, will a great treat on Friday right at the Town Hall, by the presentment of this new and original Irish play. It is founded upon one of Lover's best Irish novels, and the fact of its characters including French spies, Irish, exiles, moonlighters, smugglers, etc., gives promise of plenty of excitement in the action of the play. The scenic effects are varied and effective, one of the moat realistic being the smugglers' lair. We look forward with confidence to a very successful performance next Friday evening.
EMPIRE PICTURE COMPANY. Te Kuiti patrons of the Empire Company are being well catered for, the programmes produced from week to week by the company being' exactly the same as shown a fortnight previously at the Lyric and Royal Albert Theatre, Auckland. The one produced on Monday evening was without doubt equal to any previously seen here. Every item was good, and the large audience amply testified to their popularity by very frequent applause. To-morrow (Thursday) evening he company will give a special extra exhibition in Te Kuiti, when another monster programme of entirely new subjects will be screened. There will be quite a number o? pretty scenic pictures, a late copy of the Gaumont Graphic, an industrial entitled "Making China," a stirring Western cowboy story, several splendid dramas, and a big budget of exceptionally funny comics.
