THE FUTURE OF FIJI.
DANGER OP INDIAN CONTROL.
By Telegraph..—Press Association.— OopyrUjtLt
Sydney, Wedneday.
A seriouß view of affairs in Fiji is taken by Mr Arthur Griffiths (late of the Fiji Times), who has left Suva in order to settle in Sydney. He states that already there are 45,000 Indians in Fiji, and that if the influx continues at the present rate Fiji will practically be an Indian colony shortly. In five years' time the Indians will run the place. The Fijians, says Mr Griffiths, are rapidly melting away, and the only way to save them is to substitute individualism for the communal system. The Indian menace is serious enough, in his opinion, to warrant Commonwealth action.
