The Times states that there is more than one aspirant for the co-operation of the Union Steamship Company's fleet with a view to extending its route and bringing it into closer touch with the lines trading between Great Britain and Australasia, and possibly^elaewhere.

The directors of the Union Company state that they know nothing of the rumour cabled from London with reference to a syndicate negotiating for the purchase of the company's vessels.
