o A rink of Riverliead (Auckland) bowlers at present on a visit to Te Kuiti, played two games yesterday against local teams. In the morning the visiting team, consisting of Messrs Zeigler, Greenhalgh, Roper, and Williamson (skip) played Verrall, Alurechtsen, Matthew, and Lissaman (skip) the local men winning by 5 points. In the afternoon the same team played Castell, Rouse Petherick and Spencer (skip), and after an exciting game the local team proved victorious by 5 points. The visitors expressed their appreciation of the excellent state of the green. Major Lusk welcomed the visitors on behalf of the Te Kuiti Club and hoped they would come back at a future date. Mr Roper, in reply, thanked the club for the manner in which they had entertained them, and stated that they were thoroughly enjoying their visit. Yesterday afternoon a "Fern" match was played between the holders, Verali, Lusk, Jones and Lissaman, and the challengers, Sharpies, Rosenberg, Matthew and Cochrane. A very even and exciting game ended in the holders retaining possession of the Ferns, the score being Lissaman 22, Cochrane 21.
