MEMENTO TO POSTLES.
At the social held in the Town Hal! on Wednesday evening, Mr A. Julian, chairman oi" the sports committee on behalf of his fellow members, presented Mr A. B. Postles, the world's record breaker, with a valuable piece of greenstone. Mr Julian referred to Mr Pogtles in most eulogistic terms, and considered that the residents of Te Kuiti and district had been done an honour by his presence. Mr N. C. Matthew, who has acted in the capacity of chairman for the past three years, endorsed Mr Julian's remarks, and referred to Mr Postles' record, not only as a sport, but as a gentleman. Mr Postles, on rising to reply, was received with rounds of applause. He said: "1 thank my Te Kuiti friends and sports for their kind memento. I hoped when coming to New Zealand shores that I should receive something of the kind, and I am glad that Te Kuiti has seen fit to satisfy my desires. I have had many experiences in different parts of the world, and no better reception have I had anywhere than in Te Kuiti. My sporting life has been ever a considerable period, and as long as I am spared I wiiycontinue in the one way,
