On all occasions the writer has consistently advocated the merits of the port, and ha 3 assured settlers that in the water highway the district possesses an asset which is of incalculable benefit to all. The many friends of Mrs Wiley will regret to hear that she is so seriously indisposed that she ia under medical treatment at New Plymouth. It appears that some weeks ago Mrs Wiley met with an accident through her horse falling. Dangerous symptoms subsequently developing, Mrs Wiley was taken by boat to New Plymouth. During her stay here Mrs Wiley has been a ready helper in all sociaj functions, and we trust she will soon be back amongst us again, fully restored to health,
