Own Correspondent The sheep fair held here on the 14th inst. was the largest yet held in the district. Ruling prices were moderate. A clearing sale was held on the following day on account of Mr Gorringe, who is leaving the district. It was a huge success, some rather startling prices being paid. Building, in spite of the unfavourable weather, is very brisk. The public ball, which had been long ago regarded as defunct. by all but a few of the most sanguine, is at last in the initial «tagos of erection, and will on completion undoubtedly prove a great acquisition to the village. The Board of Education's carpenters, too, are making great headway with the school, and it will not be long before the familiar marquee so often mistaken by the stranger for a travelling show circus, or what-not, ! will have vanished and ceased to be S an eye-sore to our energetic committee, who have fought so hard in the past for the erection of a sanitary and comfortable building.
