Messrs Birdling, Pearce, Well, and Piggott, members of the old Licensing Committee, and A.. Scboles, Te Kuiti, have been appointed to the licensing bench. One other local Waitara nomination was received, but so as to avoid the expense of an election, when Mr Scholes' nomination was received, he withdrew, thus saving Waitara borough and Clifton county some £BO in expenses.—Press Association.
