AMUSEMENTS.
EMPIRE PICTURE COMPANY. The popularity enjoyed by moving pictures as a popular and instructive form of amusement was again in evidence at Te Kuiti Town Hall on Monday night, when another large audience witnessed the fine exhibition given by the Empire Company. The programme submitted was a very superior one and came in for unstinted applause. The fine old Scottish drama "Rob Roy," splendidly acted and prettily staged, the exciting ''Race for a Bride," introducing the big four-mile cross-country race for the English Grand National Steeplechase—the best race picture we have seen—the beautiful 'falls of Niagara, and the exciting dramas and amusing comics all helped to keep the audience deeply interested. On Monday evening next another splendid programme will be screened. The subjects will be of a varied and well-chosen description andl patrons can safely rely on getting full value for their money from the Empire Company.
