TE KUITI SPORTS CLUB.

A committee meeting of the above club was held in the Chronicle office on Monday evening last. Donations were promised by the following: —Messrs Laidlaw and Leeds, butter knives; H. A. Lux, Te Awamutu, £1 Is; Gunson and Co., 10s 6d; Smith and Caughey, razor. The Te Kuiti Borough Council wrote etating that the Council would not grant permission to use the road roller on the racing tack as the Council had "hot yet taken over the roller. Mr J. Lawson's tender for supplying chopping blocks was accepted. The secretary was instructed to ask Mr Watts to" judge the Highland events at the meeting. The following entries were received for the various events: 11, 220 yards 13, 120 hurdle 15, 440 yard 16, 880 yard 13, one mile 10; Maiden Chop 8, Te Kuiti Cup 7, Underhand Chop 8. It was resolved that a special meeting of the social committee be held at an early date. Mr Walsh consented to make arrangements for the erection of the platform for the Highland events. The New Zealand Athletic and Cycling Union requested the local club to have two delegates present at their annual meeting in Auckland on Friday, March 15th.—It was decided that delegates be sent. It was resolved that the Domain Board be written to and asked for permission to charge at the gate on sports day. Resolved that the charge for side shows be 10s 6d and £l. The committee will meet again on Monday next, 11th inst.
