ROADING RANGITOTO.
With reference to tha roading of the Rangitoto Block, the following reply has been received by C. K. Wilson, member for the district, from the Minister for Public Works:— "Sir,—Referring to your enquiry as to the prosecution of further road work vn the Rangitoto No. 1 Block, I have to state that the money for this work is being found by the Lands Department and the work carried out by the Public Works Department accordance with instructions received from the Lands Department. A further authority for £2013 has recently been issued by the Lands Department, and the resident engineer has been instructed to have the work put in hand as promptly as possible. A certain amount of engineering work is required before contracts for ordinary road formation can be prepared and let, but the resident engineer is arranging to employ settlers in the meantime in clearing slips and placing culverts. The £2013 referred to is to be extended as follows:
Mangawhero to Otewa, £241; Haupapa to Mangawhero, £555; Puketawia road, £1217. R. McKENZIE, Minister of Public Works."
