Tlie New Zealand Loan and MercaitileA gency Co., Ltd., rpeurt:— At Cambridge on 22nd inst., we yardeud 1721 of cattle, including 223 beef and 1242 wearier calves; also, sheep and pigs in full supply. There was a large attendance, buyers being present from Paeroa, Glen Murray, Miranda, Wairangi, and aii parts of Waikato. Notwithstanding the large entry, competition was keen throughout, and a total clearance was effected at most satisfactory prices. Fat steers made £7 ISs to £8 7s 6d, good cows £5 12s 6d to £6, medium cows £5 5s to £5 10s, grown bulls £4 lGs to £6 12s 6d, three year steers £5 Is to £5 13s, 20 month steers £3 His to £4, 15 month steers £3 3s to £3 7s 6d. yearling steers £2 15s to £3, yearling heifers £2 103 to £2 17s, strong well grown calves 3Ss to 155,medium calves 21s to 28s, empty cows in fresh condition £3 12s to £4 ss, fleshy cows £1 Ss to £-1 15s, dairy cows £4 7s (id to £6 10s, fat ewes 13s 9d, woolly ewes ISs, fat lani'u3 9s Gd to 10s 3d, store pigs 22s 'o 28s, weanerslsstol7s. At Te Kuiti on 2 Ith January, we submitted 387 head of cattle and 4700 sheep. There was a good demand for cattle from two years upwards, hut weaner calves were not wanted. Sheep were rather dull of Trices Fal steers £S 5s to £S 15s, throe year steers £5 12s (id to £6, two to two and a half year steers £1 10s to £4 15s, two year steers £4 to £4 ss, 16 month steers £3 19s to £3 14s, yearling steers £3 Is to £3 ss, good calves 37s 6d to 425, empty cows in fresh condition £3 13s to £4 (is, cows and calves £5 5s to £G Is, 15 month heifers £3 la to £3 3s, 1 tooth wethers 13s to 13a 9d, 2 tooth wethers lis 6d, 2 tooth ewes 14s 3d to 14s Gd, woolly lambs 9s.
At Otorohanga our entry comprised 226 cattle, also a small line of sheep and pigs. Prices —Fat cows £5 10s, cows in fresh condition £4 to £4 Gs, store cows £3 Gs to £3 13s, IS month heifers in calf £3 13s to £3 19s, 18 month steers £3 4s to £3 10s, 12 to 15 month steers £2 19s to £3 ss, yearling heifers £2 IGs to £3 3s, dairy cows close to profit £S to £8 10s, calves 29s to 433, one pen of choice quality steers £2 10s, mixed ewes and lambs all counted 7s 3d, wethers 10s, weaner pigs 8s to 15s. The Farmers' Auctioneering Co., Ltd.. report:—
At Ohaupo on January 23rd, we yarded 579 head of cattle, practically all 15 and IS months. Fat cows made £5 to £6, 20 to 24 month steer 3 £3 13s to £3 ISs, 15 and IS month steers £2 Is to £3 12s, calves 2Ss Gd to 355.
At Ngaruawahia on January 24th, we yarded 920 head cf cattle, and have to report a most successful sale, the majority being- sold. Forward conditioned bullocks, made £G to £7 2s Gd, fresh three yea. steers £5 to £5 17s, two and a half year steers £4 14s to £4 19s, two year staerj \to £4 10s, 15 and IS month steers £ 193 to £3 10s, mixed sexes £2 17s to £3 4s, cavles 31s to 395, fat cows £5 10s to £6 ss, forward conditioned cows and heifers £4 IGs to £5 4s, less condition £4, springing heifers £6 5s to £7 2a 6d, 2 tooth wethers 12s 9d. At Hamilton on 25th, we yarded 700 head of cattle, 162S sheep and 150 pigs. Although a fair quantity of stock changed hands bidding was very dull Fat steers sold from £8 15s to £9 lis, lighter sorts £7 17s to £S, fat cows £4 19s to £6 lis, forward cows and heifers £3 14s to £4 10s, fresh two and a half and three year steers £4 12s to £5 7s, two year steers £4 j.5 and IS month steers £3 to b6a, calves 30s to 375, younger sorts 22s Gd to 27s Gd, fat wetherg 15s 3d, to 15s 9d, forward wethers 13s 3d to 14s Gd, heavy fat ewes 14s, others 103 6d to 12s, two tooth ewes 14s Gd, aged ewes Gs to 9s, fat lambs 12s to 14s Gd, porkers 30s to 335. slips 14s to 183 Gd, weaners 8s Gd to 12s.
