TE KUITI SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

A meeting of Te Kuiti School Committee was held on Thursday evening. In the absence of the Rev. E. S. Wayne, chairman, Mr J. F. Walsh presided, and there were also present —Dr Patxon, Mesras C. Bailey, H. Jane and P. Floyd (secretary).

The Education Board wrote stating that it would give a £ for £ subsidy up to £lO towards the school library. With respect to the erection of a bell at the school the board wrote stating that it was not prepared to undertake the work at present.—lt was decided that further representation should be made in the matter. Intimation was also made by the board that the application for a headmaster's room would be considered when the question of additions to the school was being dealt with. Attention was drawn to the fact that a garden party was advertised to be held in the schoolground3 on Wednesday next. —It was resolved that the secretary should write to the local secretary of the Reform Party with respect to the advertisement, and stating that as the school will then be in session the committee cannot grant the use of the ground for the garden party.
