THE FIJI HURRICANE.

MUCH DAMAGE DONE. Ry Telesraiih.—Vres.- A social ion.-Uopyriglit Suva, Tuesday. Wireless communication has been restored with Labasa, and it is reported that that district was severely visited on Sunday by a hurricane and flood. The barometer fell to 25.28, and the storm raged furiously for some considerable time. The damage is estimated at about ten thousand pounds. The Rewa river, which drains the eastern side of Viti Levu, was in high flood, and crops on either side were submerged. The damage is estimated at 20 per cent.

So far wireless communication has not been restored between Suva and Taviuni.
