A mysterious tragedy occurred at Hillgrove last night. Mrs Watson, wife of a farmer, was waiting the arrival of her husband from the township, when she heard a shot and screams, and rushing out, discovered her husband beside the cart he was driving with a bullet wound in his head. The man died before assistance arrived.

A young man named Skinner has been arrested on a charge of murdering Watson.
