At Tirau on January 10th, we had a yarding of 816 sheep, 584 head of cattle, and had a really good sale for all classes of stock. Weaner calves, however, were lower than at late sales. Fat ewes made 13s to 14s 6d, fat wethers 15s 3d to 16s 6d, forward lambs 8s 9d, fresh 2 tooth wethers 12s Id, fat steers £7 15s to £9, fat and forward cows £4 10s to £5 ss, very forward bullocks £7 lis 6d to £8 ss, fresb 3£ year steers £6 to £7, 2J year steers up to £5 ss, best weaner calves up to 365, uthers 26s to 30s, two draught horses £25 and £27 10s, three unbroken horses £ll each. Sundries, fowls, implements, etc., at usual rates. At the Waihou yards on 12th inst., we had an entry of 351 fat sheep, 121 fat cattle, 250 mixed store cattle, 571 weaner calves and 84 pigs. There was good competition right through, and nearly everything was disposed of.
