The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report: At Westfield yards on Wednesday, fat cattle were yarded in larger numbers than usual, and receded in price as the sale went on, prime oxen selling to 26s per 1001b, others 22s to 245, cows and heifers 18s to 235, steers sold at from £6 12s 6d to £l2. cows and heifers £4 5s to £7 15s. A draft of 20 steers from Mr James Given, of Waiuku, averaged £lO 15s 6d each. Calves were - penned in usual numbers, and again sold at high rates, heavy vealers selling to £3 10s, medium sorts £2 to £2 15s, others 20s to 325. Sheep were yarded in less number than last week, and advancud in price Is per bead. Best wethers sold to 19s 9d, others 14s to 17s 6d, no heavy weights yarded; ewes in wool sold to 20s 9d, others 12s to 17s 6d, lambs in short supply and sold well, best quality to 17b 9d, others 12s 9d to 14s 9d, stores 7s 6d to 10s. Pigs yarded in avera-e numbers and sold at late rates. Baconers sold to £3 ss, porkers 1 £2 to £2 12s, slips 20s to 30s, weaners 10s to 14s.
