CRICKET.

The first club match of the season Was played at Te Kuiti Domain on Thursday, when A and B teams met. The weather was perfect and the wicket injvery fair order though the outfield was bad. Very good form was shown with bat and ball on both sides and with the number of players available there is no doubt that two teams .could be raised for usual practise games while an excellent eleven to meet outsiders could be placed in the fie ld - The A side batted first and netted 71 for eight wickets when the innings was closed. Owen, Pattison and Simmons showed excellent form with the bat, while Taylor got must of the wickets. The B team totalled 120, of which Wallace, McLaren and Martin contributed moat. Lusk showed remarkably good form with the ball, and Owen was responsible for good work behind the wickets.
