SHOOTING GAME OUT OF SEASON.
To the HJditor. Sir,—l think the attention of the Acclimatisation Society should be drawn to the fact that shooting game out of season is being carried on in some parts of the district. Only last week at Rewa Rewa, on the Rangitoto block, pigeons were being shot by a party. As this is the nesting season there is no telling what damage may have been done. Game is difficult enough to get in the proper season without this sort of thing being carried on. The settlers are very indignant and trust that the Society will take steps to prevent the practice.—l am, etc., .^— ■- SE2TTLER.
