A BUTTERLESS COW.
A contributor to the Recreations of Agriculture, some years ago, stated that he knew a cow which yielded abundance of milk, but from wnich milk no butter could ever be obtained by any process that could be devised. The cow had been kpet for several years without the peculiarity being suspected, as the milk had always been mixed with that of otters, and it probably would never have been discovered had not the animal been sold to a person who kept only one cow. The gentleman who related this considered that it probably was by no means a solitary instance, but that there may be entire varieties possessed of similar qualities with this cow, or other qualities differing from those generally supposed to belong to the whole species.
