TE KUITI SHOW.
ARRANGEMENTS IN HAND. Now that the holidays are over the public generally are beginning to focus their interest on the forthcoming Agricultural and Pastoral Show to be held at Te Kuiti racecourse on February 15th.' Arrangements for the Show are well forward and with the prospect of some fine weather there is no doubt all the various matters of detail will be thoroughly up-to-date in ample time.
The ground upon which the Show is to be held is ideal for the purpose, the surroundings being eminently suited for picnic parties, while the picturesque landscape and beautiful, winding stream lend an additional charm to an ever-popular function. It is intended to make every effort to provide train arrangements for the convenience of visitors and show exhibits from a distance. As regards visitors from Waikato it is intended to have a train leaving the showgrounds about 6 p.m. for the purpuse of conveying Waikato visitors and stock exhibits back to their homes the same day* This should undoubtedly prove an immense convenience and lead to a considerably larger attendance than would be the case with less complete facilities in the direction mentioned.
The executive has worked very hard and the members deserve every credit for the manner in which the various matters are being dealt with. Mr Gadsby (president) and Mr Somerville (vice-president), are each entitled to a special word of praise for the assiduous attention they have paid to their duties and the Show will not lack success for want of energy and interest on the part of the promoters. A meeting of the executive was held on Thursday afternoon there being present Mesrss Gadsby, Darrow, Stever.s, Matthew and Somerville. It was decided to appoint Mr Handlev foreman for the erection of cattle yards, and the supply r.f timber for the yards was arranged for with Mr Stevens. *
The making of the necessary hurdles was left in the hands uf Mr Stever.s to arrange.
It was also decided to confer with Mr Lusk (chairman of the Raping Club Committee) with respect to the mnttar of cutting the willows for posts. Mention was made of the entry forms in the schedules and it was decided to let the public know that entries on other than the prescribed form would be welcomed.
