MOTOR GAR FATALITY.

DRIVER CHARGED WITH MANSLAUGHTER. At the adjourned inquest on Thursday concerning the death of John MeConnell, of Victoria avenue, Kemuera, who was thrown out of a motor car in Beach road, Auckland, on the evening of the 19th inst., and died shortly afterwards at tne Auckland Hospital, a verdict was returned in accordance with medical evidence: "That the cause of death was fracture of the skull"; and added "that the driver, Rhodes Battye, had by his negligent driving of the motor car, so caused the death of John Alexander McConnell." At the conclusion of the inquest Battye was arrested by the police on a charge of manslaughter.
