- <a PETITION FROM EAST TE KUITI At the last meeting of Te Kuiti Borough Council a largely signed petition from residents on the eastern side of the Managokewa was presented. The petitioners requested that a bridge should be erected over the Managaokewa at or below Sheridan street in "rder to give residents on the eastern side of the river reasonable access to their properties.

Cr Young said the petition had his sympathy. A previous application had been made and the old council had practically agreed upon a site for a suspension bridge. It was a long walk round to King street, and he thought the council should meet the petitioners if possible. Cr TammarJge said the matter opened up the question of having all obstructions on the Esplanade removed. Those persons who had obstructions on the Esplanade should bs notified and steps taken to have the obstructions removed. The matter was left to the Works
