U.A.O.D.

The Pride of Te Kuiti Lodge, No. 82, of the above Order, held their halfyearly meeting in the Congregational Church last evening, when the various officers for the ensuing term were elected and installed. There was a fair attendance of brothers, and several visiting members from various lodges. After the preliminary busi ness of the Lodge had been dealt with, and a new member duly initiated, the election of officers took place, resulting as follows:—Bro. S. Chaplin, PA... was elected for the position of D.P., subject to the appointment by the Grand Lodge: Bro. E. C. Tassel], P.A.; Bro. A. Simpson, A.D. ; Bro. R. Braid. V.A.; Bro. E. Warburton, secretary; Bro. H. D. Cobb, treasurer; Bro. H. I. Lever, 1.G.; Bro. Geo. Ritchie, O.G. Bros. Dobbinson and Bates, A.D.B. Bros. W. McDonald and J. Pitcon, V.A.B. and Bro. Lever, auditor. Bro. S. Chaplin, P.A., D.P , then installed the officers in various chairs, Bro. H. Jones, P.D.P., acting as Master of Ceremonies during the installation. After several congratulatory speeches the officers and brothers adjourned to the Church schoolroom, where a "spread" had been laid out, and participated in light refreshments, interspersed with the usual list of toasts, speeches and songs, until a late hour. The meeting closed with a hearty vote of thanks to the ladies who provided such a pleasant termination to the business of the evening, and to the visitors for favouring the Lodge with their attendance.
