PROPOSED PRESENTATION.

TO RECOGNISE MR JENNINGS' SERVICES. On Saturday evening, a meeting of citizens was held in the Waitomo County Chambers, having for its object the inauguration of making a suitable presentation to Mr W. T. Jennings for his untiring energies on behalf of the electors of Taumarunui during his nine years of faithful service. Mr J. F. Walsh presided.

Mr P. Mora was selected secretary and treasurer.

It was decided to circularise the various centres and outlying districts regarding the proposal and ask them to co-operate in the matter and to make suggestions as regards the place of presentation.

it was sjggested that the testimonial take the form of a purse of sovereigns with a suitable gift for Mrs Jennings.

It vvas decided to issue lists returnable on January 15th after which the date of the presentation would be fixed.

It was resolved not to confine the presentation to the electors of Taumarunui in casre some of Mr Jennings' friends in other places wished to take part.

It was resolved to ask the Mayor to call a public meeting to deal with the matter.
