KING COUNTRY A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of the executive committee of the A. and P. Association was held on December 4th.
Correspondence was read from the district manager of railways with respect to arrangements of excursion trains.—Proposed by Mr Somerville seconded by Mr Mussen that the letter from Railway Department be received. —Carried. Resolved that the secretary write to Messrs Hattaway a-d Fitzpatrick and also Mr Petherick, regarding accounts against the association.
The president said Mr Somerville and himself engaged two men to clear and stump five or six acres of ground in the racecourse paddock, Te Kumi, for show ring, etc.—Proposed by Messrs Matthew and Mi'.ssen that the action of the president and Mr Somerviiie in getting the ground cleared ready for ploughing be be appointed. —Carried.
The president also mentioned that they had made arrangements with Mr' Baker for ploughing discing and harrowing the land in question for the sum of £lO.
Proposed —by Messrs Matthew and Mussan that the action of the president and Mr Somerville in making arrangements for ploughing be approved.—Carried. The following new members were elected :—Rev. Mr Armstrong and Mr H. McAteer.
Proposed by Mr Somerville that accounts in connection with work at Te Kurni be left in hands of the secretary to pay ; seconded by Mr Mussen and carried.
After dealing with several minor matters the meeting adjourned.
