BOWLS.
There was a very good muster of bowlers on the local green on Saturday last and some good games were enjoyed. The green is rapidly getting into good playing form and with care should see the present season through in good style.
The official opening of the green is to take place to-morrow afternoon. A large number of neighbouring clubs have been invited to take part in the function and given a fine afternoon an enjoyable time should be spent. A Very pleasant feature of the Te Kuiti green is the fact that the croquet ground adjoins the bowling green, and the presence of the ladies lends an interest to the occasion which is lacking at most greens. The game is growing steadily in popularity, and the club is adding to its membership in a highly satisfactory manner. About twenty new names have been added to the list already this season.
