LAWN TENNIS.
i i A special general meeting of the Te Kuiti Tennis Club was held in the Chronicle Buildings last vveeK. The principal objects of the meeting were to adopt the club rules, and to discuss matters in connection with the new courts. After general discussion it was resoived that the necessary money be raised by a joint and several guarantee, and that those who preferred so to do, could take up debentures in lieu of signing the guarantee. The Bank of New Zeaalnd was appointed the club's bank.
Satisfactory arrangements having been made with the bank, it was decided that the work of putting the new courts in order be proceeded with.
The committee's action in obtaining a ground from Mr Somerville was endorsed, and the committee was empowered to proceed with the work.
The rules of the club were adopted as read.
