NATIVE SECTIONS OPENING

FOR SALE AND LEASE

Land settlement in the district will advance a step in prorgess in the near future as the result of the opening of a considerable area of native-owned country. The sections which are to be opened under the auspices nf the Waikato-Maniapoto Maori Land Board range in size from about 150 acres to 800 acres. Eight sections are to be offered for sale, and eleven for lease for a period of twenty-three years, with right of renewal for a further term of twenty-three years. A total area of 7863 acres is to be dealt with, 2921 acres for sale and 4942 for lease. The sections to be offered for sale are situated in Kinohaku East, and West, and Aotea South blocks, and are des cribed as second and third-calss land. The sections for lease are on the Rangitoto Tuhua b ! oek, adjoining the Rangitotu Improved Farm Settlement. Acces3 to the sections is from Otorohanga, Kangatiki and Te Kuiti.

The sale is to take place at Otorohanga on December 20th at 11.30 a.m. One of the sections for sale is loaded with a sum of £4OO for improvements, and one section for lease with a sum of £IOO. The leases contain a com pensation clause as provided in section 263 of the Native Land Act, 1909, and the rent of the sections is to be computed from January Ist, 1912.
