TERRITORIAL PARADE.
At Te Kuiti on Tuesday evening the second parade of the Terriorials was held in compliance witn the new Defence Act. There was a fair muster of men, and the following oeffiers were present: —Captain Burgess, in command of the Kith area; Staff-Sergeant-Jnstructor Mooney; Lieutenant Carolan and Lieutenant Price. The men were put through drill, and were addressed by Captain Burgess as to the work required of them. He also dealt with discipline, which he explained was but the carrying out of an order quickly. On being seen by a reporter Captain Burgess said that he was very •well pieased with the stamp of the men, and the willing manner in which thev were taking to their work. He had" found a similar feeling throughout the area in his command. He considered that the movement would be a successful one. Staff-Sergeant Mocney would visit all the outlying places where he would instruct the men. The idea was not to compel men to come to be trained, but that officers should go to them, and carry out instruction in their own territory.,.
