TANGITU.
Mr W. T. Jennings addressed the electors of Tangitu on Thursday last Settlers from ail parts of the district rolled up to hear the champion of back block members, Mr E. A. Guil f ord occupied the chair, Mr Jennings, on rising, was greeted with applause. His speceh was mainly on the lines as that delivered by him at Tn Kuiti. defending the policy of the Government. He also replied to the various criticisms of the Opposition Party. At the. conclusion it was moved that a vote of thanks for the address and continued confidence in Mr Jennings as our member was carried -not one sung the dissent. The heavy rains here of late arc not improving our road in any way. The main road to Waimiha is in a very bad state. The Public Works Department are putting men on this road, but at present they are out near I Waimiha. where the road is good. I [ should advise the officials to send them j in a little further where the road is in I more nned of them. The open coun- I try can stand a while longer without inconveniencing anybody. |
