Taken altogether, the foregoing should be sufficient to guarantee a real good house.
TAYLOR-CARRINGTON COMPANY That farcical comedy and song is the favourite bi!l-pf-fare with up-to-date audiences is evidenced by the phenomenal success that this company is meeting with everywhere with their latest laugh - creators, "A Lucky Irishman" and "A Husband's Night Out." These comedies are said to bejust as funny as "The Girl from Chicago unci 'Ary and 'Arriet," whilst they have the advantage, of being more elegant and refined. The following is an extract from the Nelson Colonist: —"There was an enormous audience at the Theatre Royal to greet the Taylor - Carrington Company. The theatre was so crowded that chairs were brought from the dressing rooms and piaced in the orchestral we'd for unfortunate patrons, who were willing to put up with anything rather than be turned away.'' Among the musical numbers are - "Put on Your Ta-ta," "Teach Me to Forget," "Could You Love'.''" "My Wifey," "Her Soldier Hoy," "When Dreams Come True," and several others. EMPIRE PICTURE COMPANY. The management of the Empire Picture Company is certainly to be consgratualted upon the really excellent programme submitted to the numerous patrons of the company from week to week. That produced at Te Kuiti Town Hall on Monday evening last was of such high order of merit that it would be a ditlicHlt matter to find a single fault with it. The magnificent historical drama "Foe- to Richelieu," proved of absorbing interest. Beautifully coloured and faultiessiy acted and screened, it in itself proved an excellent evening's entertainment. There were others, however, if not of the same high standing as "Richleieu," that were splendid subjects, and some of great educational value, and of these may be mentioned the series showing the "Hydraulic Lift-Lock" at work. This was an excellent picture. The different items grave, gay and scenic, were fully appreciated by a large audience, and each came in for its full meed of applause and huighter. The star piece of next Monday's programme will be the great Irving drama, "The Lyons Mail," played to thronged houses in Sydney and Melbourne a few weeks ago by the Irving Company. It is some 2500 feet in
length, and is said to fairly revel in exciting incident?. Another monster programme will be screened in conjunction with this great picture.
