AMUSEMENTS.
EMPIRE PICTURE COMPANY,
On Monday evening last the above company presented at Te Kuiti Town Hall a programme of pictures that, for general all-round excellence it would be difficult to surpass. Particularly good were the three comedies screened, viz., "The Leading Lady'' "Our Intrepid Correspondent" and "An Unexpected Review." For pure wholesome fun these items were among the very best we have seen and the large audience present was at times convulsed with laughter. Another splendid picture showed a squad of Norwegian soldier gymnasti e feats, and was much appreciated. The scenic items were also good, and the different dramatic arid other subjects comprising the programme of a very high order of merit. Good as Monday's programme undoubtedly was the management promises something even better on Monday evening next. A specially-selected all-star programme from the King Theatre, Auckland, will be produced. Among other things it will include a thousand-foot comedy called "Tweedledum and the Stolen Neckalce," said to bd one of the very funniest films, a highly amusing Cowboy comedy, several splendid dramas, a particularly large number of scenics and travel pictures, and an assortment of other subjects all of absorbing interest, particulars of which are given in our advertising columns.
