«► The first annual meeting of the above was held in the Settlers' Hall, Niho Niho on Saturday last, a large number of members being present. The president (Mr Sandison) explained that all the books and records had been destroyed and a statement of the association's position could not be given, but as soon as a new committee was elected and a secretary appointed, a statement of their position would be prepared for the members. Ihe financial position was approximately—Total cash receipts £279 Os fid, total payments £IBB 12s lOd, balance in bank £54 7s 9d, showing £35 19s lid unaccounted for. Provided that the ensuing year was as successful it would be advisable to secure a permanent show ground and erect the required buildings as the settlers required something to show for their money. The following officers were elected: —Fatron, Mr W. T. Jennings, M.P.; president, Mr W. Sandison; vice-presi-dents, Messrs A. J. Storey, D. J. Bruce and G. Phillips; general committee, Messrs R. Kelly, T. J. Brennan, J. Risk, E. G. Bennett, R. S. W. Lisdale, W. J. McKenzie, R. Dench, C. Manning, J. McDonald, L. Bond, J, McGinley, T. White, J. L. Ryan, T. McKinder, F. Romayne, F. Kelly, C. Ralph, G. H. Hutton, D. J.Bruce and C. H. McKinder. A ballot was taken to decide the site of the showground, the decision being in favour of Niho Niho by 31 to S. It was decided to hold the show during February, provided a suitable date was available. The appointment of secretary was left over until the next meeting on November 4th.
