TANGITU.
Messrs Bacon, Clark and Guilcord, of Wairr.iha, reurned from Wellington by the midnight train on Thursday. Mr Guilford informs us their visit has in some respects been a profitable one. The deputation found that owing to the later,es3 of the session and pressure of work the various Ministers were very hard to get hold of. However, the following concessions were granted. From December Ist a porter will be stationed at the Waimiha station and the road works and bridges mentioned by the deputation as being particularly urgent, will be put in hand immediately. The question of financing the settler? will have to he considered by Cabinet, although no definite promise was received, yet the deputation felt that consideration of this matter is likely to lead to the settlers in the Tangitu block receiving financial assistance on the lines put forward by the deputation.
The deputation received from the member (Mr Jennings) the utmost courtesy and they speak in \vord3 of praise of the manner in which he attended to them during their brief visit to Wellington.
