Mr W. T. Jennings, M.P., has informed Mr Keely (chairman of the Ohakune Town Board, who is aIBO secretary of the Liberal party in the Waimarino district) that he deeply regrets that the alterations of the boundaries of his electorate deprive him of the privilege of continuing to represent Waimarino county and district, as he proposes to contest Taumarunui against all comers. Considerable pre&sure was brought to bear on Mr Jennings by the Waimarino electors to induce him 1o stand for the new electorate of Waimarino, but he felt he could not desert Taumarunui. A movement is on foot, it. is understood, at Ohakune to get up a monster demonstration in recognition of Mr Jennings' faithful services while representing the town and district embraced in the county of Waimarino.
