Mr Standish, in thanking bis friends for the gift, said that it would long be treasured by him. lie was sorry he was leaving Te Kuiti on account of the many old associations he had m ade. Other toasts honoured were "Old Acquaintances," "lousiness," "Te Kuiti Ho rough Council," "tho Press" and '' The Ladies.'' The function was a splendid success, and was very creditable to the organisers. Musical items were contributed by Messrs Karl Atkinson, N.-.8. Lusk, Howarth, J. Pitcon, P. Cotter. Recitations were given by Messrs R. S. McDonald and R. P. IJil!. The accompaniments were, played by Young and Morgan.
