PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.
The near completion of the above edifice points to the fact of opening celebrations, which will, in all probability, eventuate within the next few weeks. On Thursday afternoon the ladies committee of the church met in the Town Hall to organise the special features of the opening. It was decided that a great "Old-time Tea" and first-ciass concert of a varied character, should be one of the main items, this event to take palce in the Town Hall on October 17th. Committees were established to attend to details and all necessary arrangements for a successful time. The manager's committee met on Thursday night and al3o considered arrangements for celebrating the opening. It was decided that they commence in the Town Hall Sunday weke, October Ist, when Dr Gibo, of Wellington, will be present at 21 a.m. and 7 p.m. and deliver a lecture in the Congregational Church on the 2nd, the officialsof the Congregational Chruch kindly loaning their building for the occasion, Dr Gibb is a man of great power, one of the pillars of the Church, known throughout New Zealand, and should prove a helpful and interesting visitor to Te Kuiti. A special choir will render suitable music, and leading soloists will also help. On Sunday the loth Octboer, the church will be opened and specially attractive services held in the building by one of Auckland s leading and most popular ministers and a good programme of sacred music rendered by the choir.
