j At Ohaupo on Tuesday. 15th, an | entry of 1000 sheep mainly hojjci'ls j and 453 cattle came forward. There j was a good demand, buyers being prej sent from Te Kuiti, Kawhia, and the surrounding district arid all sheep and store cattle changed hands. Prices: Two tooth ewes in lamb 1 Is 2.1. f.m. ewes 12s sd, f.m. ewes jr> very low condition 5s to 6s, ewe hoggets 9s 8d to 9s 10d, wether hougets Ss 9d to !0s Sd, mixed hoggets Ids (id, well grown yearling steers £2 17s to £3 7s (3d, smaller yearling steers £2 8s to £2 12s, mixed yearlings £2 4s to .£2 ss, good yearilng heifers £2 18s, empty cwos £3 5s to £4 9s, according to condition, dairy cows close to profit £7 5s to £lO 15s, aged and more backward sorts £4 to £(3, best springing heifers £7 10s to £S 15s, others £5 10s to £6 ss.
The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report:—At Waihou, on 15th, we held our second sale of dairy cows and heifers. Practically all those brought forward, some 250, were in backward condition, and only a few were forward in calf; however, considering this, really good prices were obtained for both heifers and cows. Best cows brought £(! 15s to £S ss, others £5 10s to £ti 10s, best heifers £7 5s to £9, fair sorts £5 15s to £(3 10s, smaller and more backward £4 10s to £5 ss.
At Ngaruawahia. on l(3th, we had a yarding of 344 cattle, 885 fat and forward wethers, 739 hoggets and 300 ewes in lamb. Fresh conditioned 2j year steers of! turnips sold at £5 8s to £5 15s, fat steers £8 12s (id, fat cows £5 12s, forward cows £ J 5s to £4 13s (3d, 2 year empty heifers £8 15s, choice steer calve 3 almost yearlings £2 15s to £3 ss, smaller sorts 28s to 3Ss, forward in calf dairy cows and heifers £6 10s to £9 sf, backward sorts £5 to £5 10s, heavy fat wethers 19s 3d, forward wethers l-~s 6d to 15s 10d, good hoggets 10s sd to lis 9d, f.m. ewes in lamb los 2d.
