(Own Correspondents). Marokopa. Since my last, the s.s. Pitoitoi has made two more successful trips to port, arriving on each occasion as per timetable. Captain Robertson has. established his as an efficient and reliable mariner. The district is fortunate in possessing a boat so well adapted to the port, and it is hoped that no change in its management will be made by the owners, Messrs Hatrick and Co. A big meeting of settlers is convened by Mr J. Wouldes to take place in the local hall nest Saturday. A number of subjects are outlined for discussion, including tenure of Crown lands establishment of money order and post office savings bank, etc. The Saturday night euchre parties under the management of the Kairimu Intellectuals are being well attended. Some very creditable essays, recitations and speeches were rendered at the last gathering.
