SOCIAL AT PAEMAKO.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) The social field of operation!-? Iho Catholics of Paemako arc engaged in has a wide sphere. Thin wa« ably demonstrated at I'aemako on Friday night, the occasion being •'» combination social and dance in the. school in aid of a Catholic church for this district. There wan a very large attendance. The following programme wag submitted: Song by Mr Frank Mearn, pong by Mr James Kilmarlin, song by Miss Thompson, duet by Messrs Jlearn and Ki)martin, song by Mr M. Andrescn, eong by Mr G. C. Anthony, Irish jig by Mish Churcher, sailor's hornpipe by Miss F. Clarkin. Alter the concert, the dance an kept going till the small hours of morning, with Mr James Slines nd M.C. the dancing was not allowed to lag. The music for the dancing wne supplied by Messrs Ilarn, Kilmartin, Hopkins, Asplin and Andresen. The supper was given by the ladies of Pacmako, and was prepared in their usual first class style. A word of praise is due to Miss Churcher, as Secretary. She had a great amount of hard work, and the sum shu was abla to nhow to credit after nil expenses were provided for was £7 Os.
