Mr Walter Runciman, President of the Board of Education, said that the medical inspection of 2,0000,00 school children showed the following percentages:—Ten per cent, had defectite sight;twenty to forty per cent were in urgent need of dentists; three to five per cent, had defective hearing; eight per cent, had enlarged tonsils; one to four per cent. Buffered from tuberculosis; and ono per cent, from heart disease.
