EMPIRE LIVING PICTURES., A NIGHT FOR THE BOY SCOUTS. On Monday evening last the Empire Picture Company gave their usual show in the Town Hall. The pictures were well Up to the high standard set by the company and were thoroughly appreciated by the large audience present. On Monday next the poprietary have very kindly offered to give balf the takings to the funds of the Boy Scout movement. An excellent programme is arranged, and it is hoped that those interested in the Scout movement will not fail to be present. The generosity of the proprietary in donating half the takings .is worthy of commendation, and the least the residents of the town cau do is to see that there will be a bumper house. Apart from the movement which is to gain by this entertainment, the pictures to be shown are stated to be of a particularly high class order.\ ALEXANDRA RINK. \.' - The cool .weather is keeping skaters going in increased numbers to the rink. Thursday night is sports night, when a one-mile handicap will be run also a potato race. On Monday and Tuesday nights, 3rd and 4th July, a fancy dress carnival will be held, and is causing much excitement. Skaters must attend' in fancy dress on. those evenings. The booking of seats has been brisk.
