BOROUGH LIGHTING.
WHICH SYSTEM ? AIR GAS, COAL GAS, OR ELECTRIC ? At a meeting of the Borough Lighting Committee held last night th <e question of borough lighting was r Jos t exhaustively gone into. After close examination of the various competing systems the committee selected three alternative methods of lighting from which to make the final selection viz. Dreadnought gas, co?;, gaa> or electric light. A sub-comrnjttee consisting of Councillors Sim?,, Lusk and Young' was appointed to visit Waipukurao',. Waipa and E\ketahnna, which centres are using Dreadnought gas, coal gas and electric light respectively, and will report on its return to the Lighting Committee.
