NEWTON KING'S WEELKY REPORT. At Urenui on Monday few young cattle were yarded. A few nice lines of sprinigng heifers came forward, and were well competed for, as also were store cows. The demand for steers was not so keen, but several lines changed hands. Eighteen month steers made £3 ss, calves to yearlings 33s 6d, springing heifers good £5 13s to £6, Jersey heifers £B, store cows £3 5s to £3 335, forward cows £4 2s 6d, fat cows £5 to £5 12s, store pigs 16s. At Stratford on Tuesday there was a good yarding of mostly grown cattle. All calves except steers met with good competition and sold well. Bidding for 18 month to 2 year steers was not so brisk, but most of this class were placed privately. Calves were in smali supply, and there was an unsatisfied demand for this class. Mixed calves made 28s to 355, 18 month to 20 month steers £3 ss, 2 to 2\ yar steers £4 6s 6d, store cows £2 16s 6d to £3, 5s Jersey heifer calves £2 6s 6d,5 month Jersey heifers £3l 14s Gd, Holstein heifers £3 17s 6d springing cows £6 to £7 10a, fat and forward ewes 8s 6d. At Stony River on Wednesday there was a fair yarding and attendance with good enquiry for all classes, especially calves. Mixed calves made 25s to 30s 6d, Holstein cross heifer calves £2 6s, yearling steers £2 14s, 18 month heifers empty £3 2s 6d to £3 10s, store cows £2 10s to £3 ss, fat cows £5 6s. springing heifers £5 to £5 13s.
